What it involves
The procedure, explained
Composite bonding uses tooth-coloured resin sculpted directly onto your existing teeth to reshape, close gaps, or repair minor damage. The material is applied in layers, sculpted by hand to match your tooth shape, then hardened with a curing light.
Unlike veneers, composite bonding requires no enamel preparation — your underlying teeth remain entirely intact. The treatment is typically completed in a single afternoon and is fully reversible if you change your mind in future.
Most patients have between two and eight teeth bonded, focusing on the smile line. The composite material we use is high-quality, polishable, and designed to match your natural enamel under different lighting conditions.

The process
Step by step
Consultation
A 90-minute appointment with photographs and a discussion of what you’d like to change. We may show digital mock-ups for more complex cases.
Shade matching
We select composite shades that match your natural enamel under multiple lighting conditions — this is what distinguishes bespoke bonding from rushed work.
Application
Composite is sculpted onto each tooth in careful layers, hardened with a curing light, and shaped by hand. Typically completed in a single afternoon.
Finishing
Each bonded tooth is polished to a natural lustre. The result is immediate — you leave the appointment with your finished smile.
Aftercare
After your treatment
Composite bonding requires gentle care for the first 48 hours — avoid hard foods and dark-staining drinks. After this, normal eating and oral hygiene routines resume. We recommend a hygiene appointment every six months to maintain polish and detect any wear early.
Composite typically lasts 5-8 years before refresh or replacement is recommended. Repairs are straightforward and significantly less expensive than full replacement.
